Chief Executive Officer of Jakaya Kikwete's Heart Institute (JKIC), Prof. Mohammed Janabi, has told the Kisutu Resident Magistrate's Court today which he knows about Yusuf Manji since he arrived at his institution for treatment of heart disease. Prof.Janabi is the first defense witness who has described various medical issues related to the treatment he had given to Manji for the time he arrived at the institution in front of Judge Mfawidhi Magistrate, Cyprian Wife. The witness has testified in a case against Yusuf Manji's drug advocate where he was defense attorney Hajra Mungula.In defense of the witness said he knew Manji after being filed at the institution in February this year with heart problems and that when he was diagnosed with a clinical diagnosis and a panel of psychiatric patients his heart was experiencing problems.He explained that in July this year he was reinstated in the institution with a heart attack and back pain and a lack of sleep. Prof. Janab said Manji came back and welcomed him as a patient who was kidnapped and reports reportedly hit Florida, USA. When asked by Mungula Counselor as a patient with such heart problems he may use drugs, Prof.Janab replied that such a person is not allowed to do some of the things including smoking, using heroine and, as a result, using the effect that heart cancer can be stolen and then he can undergo major surgery. He added that in the second phase of Manji's return to hospital he helped him to remedy the pain he had by giving him the Paracetamol Drip and injection.In the case of government lawyer was Timony Vitalis and the case has been postponed until tomorrow 31 August this year to continue with other witnesses.
